New Year

So, it's a new year, so I decided to start up the blogging again. Everyone can now commence the stalking of my boring life. Last week I decided to join the fitness center at work. Today was my first day using the center there. I figured I'd start off slow, just using the treadmill today. When I got off the treadmill I kind of felt like I was on those conveyor belts that you find at the airport or at the National Gallery of Art . That wasn't so fun.

Anyway, I saw "Margot at the Wedding" the other day. It definitely fits the MO of Noah Baumbach. It seemed so real it made me uncomfortable at some moments. It was an odd movie. It definitely reminded me of "The Squid and the Whale" due to the awkwardness and realness of the issues going on. This movie was definitely not like the other movies he did like "Kicking and Screaming" (no, not that crappy Will Ferrell movie) and "Mr. Jealousy". Those movies had more of a plot and I didn't hate the characters like I hated Nicole Kidman's character, Margot. Sometimes I felt like Margot was a little too harsh and neurotic. I think the only thing I liked in the movie was the choice in wardrobe. I don't think I recommend this movie to anyone--maybe it's something you'd catch on IFC or Sundance at a 4am...like "Love, Ludlow".

Anyway, it was cool going to the new Landmark theater in Harbor East. It is pretty neat in there. Nice seats, not too crowded and not full of annoying 14 year olds running around. They sell dvd's and books there. You don't find that really anywhere. The popcorn is a little too buttery though. I think "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" is playing there soon.

Hopefully 2008 will turn out to be a good year.
